The National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA) is the leading voice for affordable housing, advocating on behalf of multifamily property managers and owners whose mission is to provide quality affordable housing. As an advocate for professional standards for affordable housing providers, NAHMA holds a unique position in the industry. Founded in 1990, NAHMA's membership today includes the industry's most distinguished multifamily managers, owner, and industry stakeholders. NAHMA's Communities of Quality (COQ) program distinguishes the best affordable housing apartment communities in the country. ApartmentSmart and NAHMA have teamed up to provide mapping and listing technology on it's web site to it's members. In addition, ApartmentSmart distinguished any COQ listed on and with the COQ logo.

NAHMA, in partnership with, has developed an innovative tool: NAHMA Maps, located at The NAHMA Maps program will work as an advocacy and marketing tool, providing the most comprehensive and up-to-date listing of affordable housing properties nationwide.


The Council for Affordable and Rural Housing (CARH) is a national non-profit trade organization. For over 28 years, CARH has served as the nation's premier association for participants in the affordable rural housing profession, including: Builders, Owners, Developers, Managers, Non-profits, Housing Authorities, Syndicators, Accountants, Architects, Attorneys, Bankers, and Companies that supply goods and services to the industry.
